Gary Webb's work reconsiders formalism with a mixture of critique and sincerity where design meets abstraction with a figurative twist. Plexi-glass, perspex, timber, marble, plastics, neon and paper are just a sampling of the materials which he gathers together to fabricate his composite constructions. Abstract units are customised and accessorised, and in some instances music and voices emanate from within. Combining the vocabulary of modernist sculpture with a pop culture vernacular Webb creates his own language of abstraction.
